Lichen Halo Engagement Ring

£1,580.00£2,940.00

This beautiful, textured engagement ring forms part of my Lichen Collection.  Did you know that lichens are actually 2 (or more) organisms?  Lichens can survive alone, but do better in company (much like people), hence the perfect, symbolic choice for wedding and engagement rings. The texture is created by the technique of etching. The band is a round “halo” profile approx 2.4mm in diameter.  It is a more unusual and modern choice, plus it’s also very comfortable.

Available in 18ct Fairmined gold or 100% recycled platinum, this ring is a responsible, sustainable and eco friendly choice for a bride with an environmental and social conscience.  Each ring is set with an approx 4mm round gemstone  in your choice of pink or blue sapphire, ruby, spinel or diamond.  These gemstones are responsibly sourced in Sri Lanka and Tanzania, they meet fair trade principles, are traceable and conflict free. Natural diamonds will be traceable and of Canadian origin, alternatively lab created diamonds are available.

Each stone is natural and will therefore be slightly different. Spinel colours range from grey through pink to a purpley blue.  If you would like to know more about your particular stone, please get in touch.  This ring has a rub over setting – a secure and practical choice for the modern bride as the setting won’t catch on clothing in the way a claw setting might.  There is also the option to ask for the setting to be cut away – simply let me know in the order notes.

There is also a matching wedding band to go with this ring.

All of my jewellery is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, as is my packaging.

If you’d like something slightly different, for instance this ring made in 9ct gold, please just get in touch, in the meantime, click here for more information.

Description

This sustainable engagement ring forms part of my Lichen collection. It is inspired by lichen and the growth patterns they create.   Lichens are tough little organisms that not only survive, but thrive, in some of the most inhospitable places on the planet.

Did you know that lichens are actually 2 (or more) organisms?  Lichens can survive alone, but do better in company, much like people, hence the perfect, symbolic choice for  wedding and engagement rings. The presence of lichen is also a good indicator of air quality.

This sustainable engagement ring is ethical and eco friendly, the gold is Fairmined and the platinum is 100% recycled.

Gemstones are sourced from Sri Lanka and Tanzania, they meet fair trade principles, are traceable and conflict free.  I use these particular gemstones because I believe that they benefit artisan miners the most.

Artisan mining is small scale and has a lesser environmental impact, furthermore, artisan miners are often making a living in the only way they can.  Many miners are also female.

I source my natural diamonds from Canada, where they are guaranteed conflict free and traceable.  Alternatively, lab created diamonds are available for those who would prefer to avoid the environmental issues related to diamond mining.
